Lifetime Topo is a mobile app and web viewer for high-quality topographic maps. Download a region once and it works completely offline — in the backcountry, on the trail, or anywhere without signal.
Maps include contour lines, hillshading, walking tracks, huts, peaks, rivers and all the detail you need to navigate in the outdoors. The web viewer at lifetimetopo.com lets you explore the same maps in your browser for free.
Most mapping apps charge a monthly subscription. We don't. You pay once for a region and own it forever. We push data updates approximately every six months when the source data refreshes — you get those free, automatically.
A 2-device limit applies per purchase, which you manage yourself from your account page.
All New Zealand topographic data is sourced from Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), the official government agency responsible for NZ's topographic map series. The data is the same dataset underlying the official Topo50 map series.
The web map uses LINZ's vector tile service. The offline app tiles are processed by us from LINZ source data and served from our own infrastructure — your device never contacts LINZ directly.
