Terms of Use

Last updated: April 2026

By using Lifetime Topo (the website at lifetimetopo.com, the mobile app, or any related services), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Purchases and licences

When you purchase a region, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the map data on up to 2 devices registered to your account. You do not own the underlying data — you own a licence to use it.

Purchases are one-time payments. There are no subscriptions. Data updates are provided free of charge for as long as Lifetime Topo operates.

All purchases are final. Refunds are offered at our discretion within 7 days of purchase if the product does not function as described.

2. Device limits

Each purchased region may be used on a maximum of 2 devices at any time. You can manage your devices from your account page. Attempting to circumvent device limits may result in account suspension.

3. Acceptable use

You may not:

4. Navigation disclaimer

Lifetime Topo is a navigation aid only. Always carry a paper map and compass as backup when in the outdoors. Do not rely solely on this app for safety-critical navigation. Map data may contain errors or be out of date. We accept no liability for decisions made based on information displayed in this app.

Representation of a road, track or route does not imply public right of access. Check with the relevant land manager before entering private or restricted land.

5. Data accuracy

Topographic data is sourced from LINZ and is updated approximately every 6 months. Contours and spot elevations in forested or snow-covered areas may be less accurate than in open areas. The app and website are provided as-is, without warranty of accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose.

6. Service availability

The web map viewer requires an internet connection. Offline functionality requires the mobile app and a downloaded region. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of online services.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service. If we discontinue, we will provide reasonable notice and offline-capable app versions will continue to function with already-downloaded data.

7. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify users of material changes via email where possible.
